You can be $10,000 up on a $100,000 FundedNext Stellar 2-Step account and still breach it before the day closes. The 5% daily loss limit is measured from your initial balance, not your current equity, so a $5,000 losing day counts the same whether you are ahead or behind.
Here is the full rule set for the model, from the 8% and 5% profit targets to the fee refund condition.
TL;DR
- Two phases, no time limit. Reach 8% growth in Phase 1 and 5% in Phase 2, at your own pace, with a minimum of 5 trading days in each phase.
- Two loss limits, both measured from your initial balance. A 5% daily loss limit and a 10% maximum loss limit. Neither one trails your profits upward during a phase.
- 80% profit share on the FundedNext Account, rising to 90% once you meet the Scale-Up criteria, which will go up to 95% with the Add-On.
- Your challenge fee comes back. Pass both phases and you can request the full purchase price as a Refundable Fee with your first Performance Reward. Pricing runs from $59.99 for a $6,000 account to $1,099.99 for a $200,000 account.
- A 15% challenge reward calculated on your Challenge profit targets, claimable once you meet the Scale-Up eligibility criteria.
What is the FundedNext Stellar 2-Step Challenge?
The FundedNext Stellar 2-Step Challenge is a two-phase evaluation that gives traders access to a simulated FundedNext Account on CFD instruments after they demonstrate an 8% return in Phase 1 and a 5% return in Phase 2 while respecting a 5% daily loss limit and a 10% maximum loss limit.
It is built for experienced traders who want a wider risk envelope than a single-phase model provides, and who would rather prove consistency across two stages than compress everything into one. The trade-off is deliberate: the model asks for two passes instead of one, and in exchange it gives roughly double the drawdown room at a lower price.
FundedNext Stellar 2-Step rules at a glance

What this means for you, rule by rule:
- Profit target. On a $100,000 account, you need $8,000 in Phase 1 and $5,000 in Phase 2. The Phase 2 target is calculated on the fresh $100,000 starting balance, not on your Phase 1 ending balance.
- Daily loss limit. You can lose $5,000 on a $100,000 account in a single day. That figure does not grow just because you are up overall. It resets at 00:00 server time every day.
- Maximum loss limit. Your balance cannot fall below 90% of the starting figure. On a $100,000 account, the floor is $90,000, and it stays at $90,000 for the whole phase.
- Minimum trading days. At least one trade on five separate days per phase. They do not need to be consecutive, and a 0.01 lot trade counts.
- No time limit. Three weeks or three months; nothing expires.
How the two-phase evaluation works
Step 1: Pass Phase 1. Reach 8% growth on your starting balance and place at least one trade on five separate days. What disqualifies you here: losing more than 5% of your initial balance in any single day, or letting your balance fall below 90% of your initial balance at any point. Both counts include floating losses on open positions, not only closed trades, and both include swap charges, commissions, and fees.
Step 2: Transition to Phase 2. Once you hit the target and complete the minimum trading days, wait for the current trading day to close. Your Phase 1 account is then paused and a Phase 2 Challenge Account appears in the Active Accounts section of your dashboard. The transition is automatic.
Step 3: Pass Phase 2. Reach 5% growth and again trade on at least five separate days. The 5% daily loss limit and 10% maximum loss limit carry over unchanged, applied to the new account’s starting balance. The lower target does not come with tighter risk parameters, so the risk envelope you used in Phase 1 still applies.
Step 4: Clear the profit check, KYC, and review. The system runs an automatic profit check at the end of the day, then a prompt on your dashboard gives you access to the Verification Center for your KYC documents. The Risk Management Team also checks your trading against FundedNext’s rules and platform policies. If the review identifies a violation of the Terms of Service, the FundedNext Account may not be processed. Once your documents are approved, the account is delivered within 24 to 48 hours.
How the daily loss limit works
This is the rule that ends the most evaluations, and the reason is almost always the same: traders measure it against their current equity instead of their starting balance.
Your daily loss limit is fixed at 5% of your initial account balance, calculated once and reset every day at 00:00 server time. It does not trail your equity upward as you profit during a phase.
Daily Loss Limit = Initial Balance × 5%
Three details change how this behaves in practice:
- Floating losses count. Your current daily loss is the sum of closed trade results for the day plus the running profit or loss on open positions.
- Costs count. Swap charges, commissions, and fees are included in the total.
- Same-day profit extends the buffer. Profit banked earlier in the same day is added to your allowance for that day only.
The midnight trap
Holding a losing position across 00:00 server time carries the floating loss into the new day’s calculation.
Suppose you close $2,000 in profit and hold an open position at a $6,000 floating loss. Your net daily loss is $4,000, which is within the day’s permitted-loss amount. Hold that same position past midnight and the $2,000 profit no longer offsets it. The new day opens with a $6,000 floating loss against a fresh $5,000 limit, and the account breaches.
Server time follows GMT+3 during Daylight Saving Time and GMT+2 for the rest of the year. Our guide to prop firm trading rules covers how limits like this differ across evaluation models.
The FundedNext Account: what changes after you pass
Passing both phases changes five things.
- The profit target disappears. There is no target and no minimum trading day requirement. You trade to your own plan.
- The loss limits stay, recalculated. The 5% daily loss limit and 10% maximum loss limit continue, measured against the FundedNext Account’s starting balance. If you scale up later, both figures adjust proportionally.
- Reward Share starts at 80%. It rises to 90% once you meet the Scale-Up criteria. The optional Lifetime Reward 95% Add-On, purchased at checkout for 30% of the challenge price, sets the share at 95% from your first reward.
- News trading gains a condition. In the 10-minute window spanning 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after a listed high-impact event, only 40% of profit from trades opened or closed in that window counts toward your balance. Losses in the same window are applied in full. This covers market execution and pending orders, including stop loss and take profit triggers.
- Reset is no longer available. You can reset a Challenge Account as often as you want. Once you hold a FundedNext Account, the reset option is gone.
Payout structure and profit share
Stellar 2-Step traders now choose one of three Performance Reward structures at checkout. The choice is made once, before trading starts, and it applies for the life of the FundedNext Account. FundedNext’s guide to the new payout structures covers how each one works in full.
| Feature | Standard | 3 Day | On-Demand |
| Profit split | 80% | 60% | 90% |
| First Payout | After 21 calendar days | After the first 3-day cycle, if conditions are met | Any time, once conditions are met |
| Payout cycle | Every 14 days after the first | Every 3 days | No fixed cycle |
| Conditions | None | 3 profitable trading days per cycle, minimum 1% profit each day | 2% account growth and 40% consistency |
- Standard: This is the structure Stellar traders already know, and it has no performance conditions and no consistency rule. Your first trading cycle runs 21 days, with withdrawal available at the end of day 21. Later cycles run 14 days and apply only if you made a profit and requested a withdrawal in the previous cycle. You keep 80% of the profit, rising to 90% once you meet the Scale-Up criteria.
- 3 Day: This trades a lower split for much faster access. To qualify in a cycle, you need three profitable trading days, each with at least 1% profit. If you miss the condition, the cycle rolls into the next 3-day cycle, and nothing about the account is at risk.
- On-Demand: This has the highest split and no fixed cycle. You can request a Performance Reward on any day your account is up at least 2% of its initial balance, as long as your highest-profit trading day does not exceed 40% of your total generated profit at the moment of the request. It replaces the old paid On-Demand Rewards Add-On, which is no longer offered.
- Lifetime 95% Add-On: If you hold this add-on, you keep a 95% split on all three structures. The choice between them then comes down to cycle speed and conditions, not the split.
- Refundable fee: Your challenge fee is returned with your first Performance Reward, whichever structure you pick.
Switching structures after you start trading is not possible. The structure only changes the profit split and cycle timing. The 5% daily and 10% maximum loss limits stay the same on all three.
FundedNext Stellar 2-Step pricing
Pricing is a one-time fee with no monthly charges. Figures below are for standard swap accounts.
| Account size | Challenge fee | Reset fee |
| $6,000 | $59.99 | $53.99 |
| $15,000 | $119.99 | $107.99 |
| $25,000 | $199.99 | $179.99 |
| $50,000 | $299.99 | $269.99 |
| $100,000 | $549.99 | $494.99 |
| $200,000 | $1,099.99 | $989.99 |
Swap-free versions of each account carry a 10% premium, taking the $100,000 account to $604.99.
What comes back
The Refundable Fee. Your challenge fee is returned once you complete both phases and receive your FundedNext Account. You request it with your first Performance Reward, and the amount equals what you actually paid: purchase a $6,000 account for $59.99 and pass, and you can request $59.99. Reset that account for $53.99 first, and the refund reflects the reset fee instead. The optional 150% Reward Add-On, priced at 10% of the challenge fee, returns 150% of the subscription fee, paid with your first or third reward on request.
The 15% challenge reward. Calculated on the Challenge profit target, which for the Stellar 2-Step is the combined 13% across both phases. On a $100,000 account, that is 15% of $13,000, or $1,950. It is not paid when you pass. It becomes claimable retroactively once you meet the eligibility criteria for the Scale-Up plan, and you request it alongside a Performance Reward withdrawal. Accounts purchased or reset before January 12, 2026 follow the previous structure, where the reward is granted on reaching 10% cumulative growth in the FundedNext Account. The 15% challenge reward is not available to U.S.-based clients.
Two access notes worth checking before purchase: the $100,000 and $200,000 accounts are currently unavailable on Match-Trader and cTrader, and the reset option is unavailable for those two sizes on both platforms.
Is the Stellar 2-Step right for you?
This model suits:
- Swing traders holding positions for days, who need a 10% maximum loss floor that does not trail.
- Traders running higher-variance systems, where a single ordinary losing day could exceed a tighter daily cap.
- Traders who prefer no deadline, since neither phase expires.
This model is not for you if:
- You want the shortest route to a FundedNext Account. Two phases at five minimum trading days each means at least ten trading days before an account can be issued, plus KYC.
- You want your first reward quickly. The first trading cycle is 21 days.
- You are a U.S.-based client counting on the 15% challenge reward. It is not available in that market.
- You depend on automated strategies and are trading a Match-Trader account. Platform rules on automated trading differ, so confirm your platform’s policy before you buy.
- You are new to trading. This is an evaluation of existing skill, not a place to build one.
Final Thoughts
The Stellar 2-Step earns its place for traders whose strategies need room. A 10% maximum loss limit and a 5% daily loss limit give a wide margin, with no deadline on either phase, and the fee comes back with your first Performance Reward.
Before you buy, read the daily loss limit calculation once more. It is measured from your initial balance and it resets at midnight server time, and understanding those two facts prevents the most common breach in the model.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the profit targets for Phase 1 and Phase 2?
Phase 1 requires 8% growth on your starting balance and Phase 2 requires 5%. On a $100,000 account that is $8,000 and $5,000. Neither phase has a time limit.
Is there a minimum trading day requirement on the Stellar 2-Step Challenge?
Yes. Each phase requires trades on at least 5 separate days, with a minimum of one trade per day. The days do not need to be consecutive and a 0.01 lot trade satisfies the requirement. They must be completed even if you reach the target sooner. The No Minimum Trading Days Add-On removes this requirement for an additional 25% of the challenge fee, and is available on the $6,000, $15,000, and $25,000 account sizes.
Does the FundedNext Stellar 2-Step have a daily loss limit?
Yes, 5% of your initial account balance, reset at 00:00 server time. It includes closed trades, floating losses on open positions, swaps, commissions, and fees. It is calculated from your initial balance, not your current equity.
When do I get the challenge fee refunded?
After you complete both phases and receive your FundedNext Account. You request the Refundable Fee with your first Performance Reward, and it equals your original purchase price, or your most recent reset fee if you reset the account.
Can I reset my Phase 2 account if I breach a rule?
Yes, but a Phase 2 reset restarts the evaluation from the beginning. You receive a new Phase 1 Challenge Account with the 8% target and 5 minimum trading days, and you complete both phases again. Resets carry a 10% discount on the account price.
Is news trading allowed on the FundedNext Stellar 2-Step Challenge?
Yes, with no restrictions or profit adjustments during Phase 1 and Phase 2. In the FundedNext Account, the News Profit Split Rule counts only 40% of profit from trades opened or closed within 5 minutes either side of a listed high-impact event. Losses in that window apply in full.
