Withdrawal

What is Withdrawal in CFDs Trading?

A withdrawal is when you move money out of your trading account to your own wallet, bank, card, or any of the approved payment methods of your broker. It is the opposite of a deposit. Platforms usually label these together as deposit and withdrawal or withdraw and deposit.

Deposit vs Withdraw

  • Deposit: you add funds to your account so you can open positions.
  • Withdraw: you take funds out from your available balance.

Your available amount can be lower than your balance if you have open trades using margin.

How Withdrawal Works

  1. Close trades or keep enough free equity.
  2. Check your withdrawable amount on the wallet or funds page.
  3. Choose the method and amount, then submit the request.
  4. Processing times and fees vary by method. Many providers send funds back to the original payment route first for security.

Withdrawal Example

You deposited 300 US Dollars. You bought EURUSD at 1.10201, and it later closed with a $20 gain. Your balance is now $320. If no trades are open and no holds apply, you can request a $100 withdrawal and still keep $220 in the account.

Tips to Avoid Delays

  • Complete identity checks early.
  • Use the same name on account and payment method.
  • Know the fees and minimum withdrawal amounts set by your prop firm.
  • Keep records of every deposit vs withdraw step.
